A recent article in the Dallas Examiner suggested Destination Weddings without leaving home. Villa Antonio in Lake Travis, Texas, was pictured in the article. (If you need a DJ in Austin, call R.J. Johnson or... of course, we travel!). For those of you in the Dallas /Fort Worth area, The Old Red Museum in downtown Dallas also offers a castle look and feel. It sits right on Dealey Plaza with views of the Book Depository building, Reunion Tower, and your guests can even tour the museum while you are taking your final wedding pictures! Nikki and Matt are getting married there in April and I'm really excited to be their MC/DJ!

Will they dance?
One of the biggest hurdles for inexperienced DJ's is getting people to dance. Brides frequently tell me it is their biggest reception fear (second only to guests not having fun!). Experienced DJ's have many techniques to fill the dance floor. The truly great DJ's have started setting the stage before the wedding party arrives! This picture is from a TCU Sorority event we did at The Chateau at Forest Park (and are doing again tonight at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center!) and I can only be excited by the number of potential brides on the dance floor!

Kristin and Geoff
The earliest reception I've DJ'd was Kristin and Geoff's. It started at 11am! You can tell by this picture that they were having a great time! Geoff is in the Air Force and we would like to thank both him and Kristin for their service. Military wives are often overlooked for the sacrifice they make! They currently live at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan.

Variations on The Ringing of the Glasses
Besides the Grand Entrance, the time before the Wedding Party arrives really sets the tone for the rest of the evening. We use it to get your guests warmed up, involved, and ready for the celebration! At Kevin and Johanna's afternoon reception, the longest married couple is showing the rest of the guests how it's done! : ) We were actually in the Pacific Northwest for this wedding.

Kristen and Brandon
I met with Kristen and Brandon on Sunday (before the Cowboy's game!) to start planning for what is going to be a great reception at City Club in Fort Worth. Today their engagement pictures were posted by their outstanding photographer, Tracy Autem at Lightly Photography. I can't wait to see the Ceremony and Reception pictures! http://lightlyphoto.blogspot.

Great Venues
We have the pleasure of working at all sorts of venues. This weekend Randy Ro Entertainment covered eight specific events. The value of being busy is that we get to see different venues, their business practices and their effectiveness, first hand. If you are wondering about a specific location for your wedding or reception, just ask.
Today's recommended venue is The Sanford House Inn and Spa in Arlington, Texas. It is a wonderful place for your wedding and reception! Ask for Amanda Graham, Certified Wedding Planner.

Annie Chen found us via the internet. She is from Dallas but lives in Washington State. All of our planning, except for one meeting, was done with emails and phone calls. By the time we did their reception I felt like I really knew them, not only because of the emails, but because of all the time I spent putting together their photo montage. We did a presentation at the end of dinner that their guests really enjoyed. I highly recommend using a photo montage during your reception. Much love and thanks to Annie and Andy Allen!
